3 months in China by land culminated in this small selection. I present to you my personal favourites from a place I found to be wondrous, exploitative, affluent, poor, friendly and unwelcoming. It is all of these things and more, and somehow comes together feeling like the root of SE Asia, from which branches grew and formed surrounding countries.
